Welcome to the wondrous world of Matcha. This unique green tea - known for its fine powdered form and rich tradition - is more than just a beverage; it's an experience that enriches both body and mind.
The Origin of Matcha
What makes matcha special is that you consume the entire tea leaf in powdered form, allowing you to ingest all its nutrients instead of just an infusion. This method of tea drinking is unique and contributes to Matcha's special status.
The Secret Behind Matcha Production
The production of Matcha is a careful and meticulous process that determines the quality and flavor of this tea. About three weeks before harvest, the tea leaves are shielded from the sun, making them rich in chlorophyll and giving them a deep green color. Only the youngest leaves are harvested, steamed, and dried without any form of oxidation. Afterwards, our Matcha is lovingly ground on traditional granite mills into a silky smooth powder.
A Rich Source of Antioxidants and Energy
Matcha is renowned for its high levels of antioxidants and caffeine, making it a more potent alternative to coffee. Thanks to the unique combination of tannins and caffeine, energy is absorbed more slowly than with coffee, providing a gradual and long-lasting energy boost without straining the stomach or accelerating the heart rate.
A Unique Tea Ceremony
Matcha is not just a tea; it is a ceremonial experience. In Japan, Matcha is prepared and served with great reverence during the tea ceremony, a ritual that celebrates the beauty of the moment and the art of tea making.
Different Quality Grades for Every Application
Not all matcha is of the same quality. That’s why we offer different quality grades, from top-quality ceremonial matcha from the best regions of Kagoshima, Japan, to variations like roasted hojicha. Each type has its unique character and application, from traditional tea ceremonies to modern culinary creations.
Matcha: A Versatile Superfood
The popularity of matcha transcends the tea experience. It is used in a variety of recipes, from smoothies and lattes to pastries and desserts, making it a versatile superfood that adds a healthy and flavorful twist to your favorite dishes.
