Prepare your own healthy, homemade jam or jelly with xylitol gelling sugar. This natural sugar substitute has a low glycemic index. Xylitol contains only half as much calories as granulated sugar. Yet, it tastes just as sweet. That makes xylitol an healthy alternative to refined sugar.
Xylitol or granulated sugar?
Xylitol is a healthy alternative for granulated sugar. Xylitol has a low glycemic index (GI) of 13. In comparison, granulated sugar has a GI of 70. Xylitol contains only around 40% of calories found in refined sugar, but tastes just as sweet. Its texture is more coarse and does not lump as fast as granulated sugar.
From Finnish birches
Our xylitol is naturally harvested from sustainably-grown and GMO-free birches in Finland. Water and energy is used sparingly to curb carbon dioxide emissions.
Use
Gelling ratio 3:1.
Use 100g of xylitol gelling sugar for every 300g of fresh fruit to make delicious jam. For jelly, use 100g of gelling sugar for every 250g of fruit. Heat the fruit and sugar until a thin layer of foam arises. Cook for 3 minutes and keep stirring the mixture. Store in sterilized jars.

Xylitol (96%), gelling agent: pectin, dextrose, food acid: citric acid, stabilizer: calcium citrate. From Finland.
