Tofu - the Asian plant-based protein source
Because of its versatility and nutritional value, tofu has been a staple of Asian cuisine as well as popular in Western vegetarian and vegan cuisine for hundreds of years.
Tofu is made from soybeans, water and a coagulant. It is usually pressed into blocks or slices. Tofu is creamy and high in protein but contains hardly any carbohydrates. It is also high in calcium and iron. Tofu is a very rewarding culinary ingredient because it absorbs plenty of the flavors of spices, sauces and marinades.
Tofu nature in organic quality
Our tofu is of organic quality, meaning from organic soybeans without GMOs and grown without the use of chemical pesticides, herbicides or the use of artificial fertilizers.
Store unopened at room temperature
You can store our Tofu Nature at room temperature as long as the pack is not opened. After opening, you can keep it in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
Using Tofu
This tofu is very versatile to use. Its natural flavor leaves all possibilities open to you: you can marinate the tofu stick in a sweet-spicy Asian sauce, fry it in seasoned breadcrumbs as a vegan schnitzel substitute, for example, or mix it with garlic, olive oil and Mediterranean herbs. Or you can crumble the tofu into tomato sauce as a vegan alternative to Bolognese sauce.
Tofu nature is also rewarding and easy as a base for plant-based scrambled eggs. Organic tofu nature is also perfect for sweet dishes, for example, you can mix tofu with lemon juice and a sweetener as a filling for a vegan cheesecake.
Tofu fits into basically any kitchen: obviously in Asian dishes, but certainly also as an ingredient in Western or Mediterranean recipes.
