Top quality dried natural figs
Our dried figs are naturally deliciously sweet. We always choose the best quality: beautiful figs from the last harvest, with a fantastic taste.
Organically grown figs, from October to May
In September these organically grown figs are harvested and dried in Turkey. This means that no artificial fertilizer and no chemical sprays are used. From the end of October onwards you can enjoy the healthy taste! From spring onwards the figs start to turn into sugar. In the summer there are often no quality and unprocessed figs available.
Sugarizing the fig
Dried figs contain almost no water left and have a high sugar content. Therefore, after harvesting and drying, figs retain an incredibly long shelf life. Keep them dry and cool. White precipitation on the fig is a sign of saccharification. The fig remains edible.
Figs in dishes and as a substitute for sugar
Figs have a moderate glycemic index of about 60, making them an excellent sugar substitute. Use figs in breads and pastries. When stir-fried, figs add a sweet touch to meat and vegetables. Cut the figs in small pieces in a salad with nuts and feta.
