What is MCT oil? Healthy fats from the coconut
MCT is short for Medium Chain Triglycerides. They are fats of a special kind. Dairy products such as milk, yogurt, butter do contain some MCTs in their fat composition, but the real, concentrated source of MCTs is the coconut.
Therefore, MCT oil is a type of coconut oil that is 100% Medium Chain Triglycerides only.
One fatty acid is not the other
Fats are one of the macro-nutrients on the diet. They provide energy to the body. But one fatty acid is not the other. The vast majority of fatty acids we get through our diet are long chain fatty acids. However, medium-chain fatty acids have a different molecular structure due to the number of carbon atoms they contain, and are, however, absorbed by the body in a very different way. They are metabolized differently. Our bodies also find them easier to absorb and convert into energy.
MCT oil C8/C10 - Organic, 100% pure with no additives
MCT fatty acids have a C number and a name:
(C6) Capric acid or hexanoic acid
(C8) Caprylic acid or octanoic acid
(C10) Capric acid or decanoic acid
(C12) Lauric acid or dodecanoic acid
Of these, C8 and C10 are the important dietary fats. Our MCT oil contains only and 100% pure C8 and C10 MCTs with no additives like palm oil.
Perfect for vegans, athletes and a must in the keto diet
Medium chain fatty acids are absorbed into the body in a different way than long chain fatty acids, giving you energy much faster. These fats are not stored in adipose tissue but converted into energy and ketones.
Because of these properties, MCT is ideal as a sports nutrition supplement and for quick energy during exercise. This oil is also extremely suitable for vegans and veggies because of its medium-chain fatty acids from vegetable sources. And it is a must for support in ketogenic diets and weight management.
Organic MCT oil, with respect for people and animals
Our MCT oil is from organic farming, so without the use of chemicals, pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers.
You rarely think about it, but for the production of coconut products, monkeys are still often trained to pick the coconuts. And that in very cruel conditions. Our MCT oil has a "Not Picked by Monkeys" label. Unfortunately this is not yet an official label, but it is a big step forward in raising awareness.
Using organic MCT oil
MCT oil as an alternative to cooking oil and salad oil
MCT oil has a completely neutral taste and you can use as an alternative to regular coconut oil or other cooking oil. Use maximum at 175°. Not so suitable for deep frying. Also cold you can use it culinary such as in salad dressing, in dips, sauces, shakes or smoothies.
MCT oil as a supplement
MCT oil is virtually tasteless and odorless, making it easy to mix into food and drinks. It is very popular to add 1-2 teaspoons of MCT oil to your morning coffee. You can also add MCT oil to sports drinks.
Always build up the intake of MCT oil in the beginning. Start with 1 teaspoon per day and slowly scale up to a maximum of 3-4 EL per day.
