Our Hojicha Bio is roasted over charcoal in porcelain pots. This process gives the tea leaves a beautiful, deep brown color and a spicy aroma that enchants your senses. The tea comes to life on the rich volcanic soil of southern Japan, in the Kagoshima region. The altitude of the tea gardens, combined with the mild roasting process, creates a delicious umami flavor that captures the true essence of Japanese tea.
Caffeine-free enjoyment
Our hojicha is perfect for any time of day thanks to its low caffeine content. Whether you desire a warm, comforting cup of tea during a cold morning or a refreshing thirst quencher on a summer afternoon, this tea will suit your needs perfectly. Plus, you can re-pour the hojicha organic leaves up to three times, allowing you to enjoy the rich layers of flavor each time.
Preparation method for the perfect flavor balance
To get the optimal flavor from our hojicha, we recommend 2 grams per cup or 12 grams per liter of water. Allow the tea to steep at a temperature of 70-75°C. For a refreshing, light drink, wait 1 to 2 minutes.
