Delicious cedar honey - a miracle of nature
Cedar honey - like pine honey - is a very special honey, which we call honeydew. Cedar has no flower or blossoms, so there is no source of nectar for the bees to feed on. The production of this honey depends on a symbiotic relationship between three types of insects that live in the cedar forest: the aphid, the ant and the honeybee.
The cedar may not have flowers, but aphids can consume the tree sap and they digest it in such a way that some of the sugar passes through their midgut and is expelled as a drop of sugar water: that's honeydew.
This sugar water feeds the ants, who in turn protect the aphids from other predators. And the bees... then turn it into delicious honey.
Very deep flavor
Cedar honey has an exceptionally deep flavor, with distinct notes of wood. Where pine honey makes us spontaneously think of autumn, cedar honey is like summer.
Cedar honey is dark brown, liquid and somewhat transparent.
Quality guarantee - European honey
Our cedar honey is of mixed European origin, but for the most part it comes from the Mediterranean EU countries. This honey is unprocessed, pure and natural. He contains no additives and is in a natural way, without heating, processed. And therefore also not pasteurized.
This honey meets high quality standards and is subject to extensive analysis. As with all our other honey products, it is carefully controlled to ensure that the bees are not supplemented with sugar during the flowering period.
