Hand-harvested whole pepper bulbs from a protected area
Our Malabar black pepper comes from the southern Indian state of Kerala, on the Malabar Coast or pepper coast. There, local farmers grow the pepper in a protected nature reserve in the mountains, far away from civilization. The pepper berries are harvested by hand and naturally dried in the sun. They undergo no further processing. Our whole Malabar peppercorns are medium sized and smaller than Tellichery peppercorns from the same region.
Usage
Grind the Malabar pepper bulbs in a mortar or pepper mill before use. Malabar pepper is delicious with roasted meat and fish, in sauces and stews, with vegetables such as pumpkin and carrots. The warm, sweet flavor of Malabar pepper also pairs well with fruit in desserts.
Ingredients
Whole black Malabar pepper. 100% natural, without additives.
