The oil comes from Hippophae rhamnoides, a robust, prickly plant with bright orange berries. Unlike many oils that are extracted only from the seeds, this oil is pressed from the pulp, providing richer nutritional value.

Thanks to cold pressing (max. 40 °C), all sensitive contents are optimally retained.

Rich in omega 7 and natural carotenoids

Sea buckthorn oil is one of the rare natural sources of omega 7 (palmitoleic acid) and contains as much as 39 g of palmitoleic acid per 100 g of oil. In addition, the oil is naturally rich in carotenoids, which provide the characteristic bright orange color.

Omega 7 is a fatty acid that occurs naturally in skin algae and is an important component of mucous membranes. During periods of stress or with a one-sided diet, its production may be insufficient.

Internal and external use

This sea buckthorn oil is suitable for daily use, both:

• internally: delicious in fruit salads, yogurt, muesli or desserts

• externally: as an intensely nourishing skin oil or as an addition to personal care products

Note: the oil has a bright orange color and may temporarily stain textiles.
