We traveled all over Italy looking for the very best tomato passata, by Pit&Pit standards - and we ended up at Marco's place. In the region of Piacenza, Marco cultivates tomatoes on a limited area, with passionate enthusiasm, the healthiest tomatoes in the open air - and he also processes them himself into tomato products such as passata and concentrato in a completely private facility.

Ready-made pasta sauce Puttanesca organic, but vegan and low in salt
From our Pit&Pit tomato paste we make pasta sauce. Ready-made, but just as healthy.
Puttanesca pasta sauce is a particularly delicious Neapolitan classic. Typically the sauce is made for spaghetti and especially linguine, but of course any pasta shape will do.
Tomato puree, olives and capers are the signature ingredients of Puttanesca sauce. Also, anchovies, but we omit them in our Pit&Pit version. This sauce is completely vegan. With a salt content of only 0.2%, this sauce is also low in salt by European standards.
All ingredients from organic and biodynamic cultivation, without monoculture
All our tomato and pasta sauces are from organic cultivation, so without the use of artificial fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. Marco, however, goes a big step further. Throughout his production, he uses the principles of biodynamic agriculture: a holistic approach to farming. It induces spirituality in the process of growing food. In biodynamic farming, the main emphasis is on working the soil naturally, as the soil is essential to the quality of the product, not the farming itself.
In short: Marco insists on conducting only 1 tomato harvest cycle per year, with harvest as late as possible in the summer-at the rhythm of the seasons. From that harvest we make passata, concentrate and now, therefore, pasta sauces.
Pasta sauce Puttanesca - without additives
This pasta sauce "Puttanesca" contains 87% pure sun-ripened tomatoes for a deep tomato flavor and flavorings such as black olives, capers, garlic and olive oil. Furthermore, this sauce contains no flavor additives or preservatives or other additives.

Pasta sauce Puttanesca is widely used in Italian home cooking. This sauce is convenient and ready for immediate use. Just reheat and ready.
This pasta sauce Puttanesca also goes great with Mediterranean fish such as tuna and swordfish, but just as well with our northern white fish.

Since we don't use anchovies, you can add it yourself if desired, or add some extra salt. Garnish with parmesan and parsley.
