This organic Nasi Goreng paste is a traditional spice paste, also called a wet spice mix. The paste is traditionally prepared in the Netherlands by a family business whose grandfather was born in Indonesia. His original family recipes still form the basis of this flavorful paste.

Boemboe is the heart of Indonesian cuisine: a mixture of onion, garlic, chilies and spices, pounded in a mortar into an aromatic paste. Whereas many varieties contain trassi (shrimp paste), our boemboe is completely vegan.

With no artificial additives, preservatives or added sugars. Only pure, organic ingredients for a full, layered flavor.

This is how to use it

First, heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and briefly fry the paste until the flavors are released. Then add cooked rice (preferably from the day before for best texture) and fry with it. Combine to taste with vegetables, chicken, shrimp or tofu. Finish with spring onion, a scrambled egg, sambal or atjar. And possibly a spoonful of soy sauce for extra depth. This is how you put an authentic nasi goreng on the table in minutes.
