European glasswort: the salt plant
This dried samphire is from EU agriculture, the samphire is grown on pure ocean coasts in Portugal. We dry our samphire, which naturally has a salty taste, and chop it into a granulate. This is how we get an excellent salt substitute.
Ideal salt substitute: 80% less salt
A true salt substitute, because the salt in samphire salty is not table salt at all. It is a dry plant, with a low sodium chloride content. Our dried samphire has a total salt content of 18.9%, so only one-fifth of table salt.
Samphire also contains numerous other minerals such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, copper and manganese.

Organic samphire, by European standards is quite a scarce product - on the world market lead countries like the U.S. and Mexico.
This samphire is grown organically according to the rules imposed by the EU. This product is therefore extensively tested for physical and microbiological parameters.
Use salicornia as a healthier alternative to salt.
Samphire salty is used, like coarse salt, with a salt mill. Grinding also enhances the smell and taste. Samphire salty use in salads, fish, soups and broths, pizza and sauces.
