This honey combines the soft, floral sweetness of cornflower honey with the powerful, slightly spicy notes of black cumin. A balanced blend that comes into its own both pure and in cooking.

Cornflower honey from protected natural areas

The base of this honey is organic cornflower honey from Höxter (Germany), which comes from blue-flowering cornflowers growing on the edge of a National Park.

Black cumin oil: cold-pressed and rich in bioactive compounds

Black cumin was added to the honey, in a mixture of filtered and unfiltered form. The oil used is cold-pressed from organically grown Egyptian black cumin seeds.

Black cumin is known for its high content of essential oils, bitter substances and tannins, including nigelline and thymoquinone. It also naturally contains linoleic acid, a polyunsaturated fatty acid.

Subtly spicy, not overpowering

The taste is mildly sweet with a delicate spicy undertone. The black cumin adds character without dominating the honey. This makes this honey accessible even to those who are not yet familiar with black cumin.

Everyday use or culinary accent

This honey is versatile in use.

For daily use, you can melt a teaspoon under the tongue, which is often chosen for better absorption.

In addition, it is delicious:

• as a sandwich spread

• in herbal tea (let the tea cool down a bit first to preserve its contents)

• as a surprising ingredient in a honey mustard dressing or other sauces

Naturally rich in enzymes

This honey naturally contains glucose oxidase (GOX), an enzyme that enters honey through the saliva of bees. This has traditionally been attributed antibacterial properties. For this reason, this honey is sometimes considered a worthy alternative to manuka honey, albeit with a different flavor profile.
