This cinnamon powder is 100% pure, ground Ceylon cinnamon from organic farming. This cinnamon is the inner bark of the Ceylon cinnamon tree. Our Ceylon cinnamon sticks ar completely free of chemical pesticides, herbicides and additives.
Ceylon cinnamon versus cassia cinnamon : much less coumarin
The main difference between this Ceylon cinnamon and cassia is the coumarin content. Cassia contains approx. 2g to 5g coumarins while Ceylon cinnamon only contains approx. 0.015g coumarins. Our Ceylon cinnamon is always analysed for coumarines to ensure the best quality of cinnamon.
The real Ceylon cinnamon is softer, more complex and mild. The deep, full-bodied taste of cassia goes very well with savoury dishes, while the finer Ceylon cinnamon combines better with sweet.
Use
Add a cinnamon stick to rice, pears, wok or tajines and let simmer. Use a cinnamon stick instead of a teaspoon to stir your hot chocolate or glühwein.
