  • Richest vegetable source of omega-3
  • Powerful superfood
  • All-natural chia seeds

Chia seeds come from flowers of the chia plant. In 5 months, these seeds develop until they are fully-grown and have their complete nutritional value. Then, they are mechanically harvested and carefully cleaned.

Chia seed contains large amounts of omega 3 (18.6%) and omega 6 (6.8%) in ideal proportions. Chia seeds are also full of fibre (37.9%). They have certainly earned their place among superfoods.

    Use

Because of their neutral flavour, chia seeds are quite versatile to use. Moreover, they make you feel full longer. Add some chia seeds to muesli, porridge, yoghurt, smoothies and salads. They also give a delicious crunch to bread dough. Use 5% of the quantity of flour (25g per 500g flour).

Alternative for butter and eggs in pastry

You can substitute butter or eggs with chia seeds in pastry. For 100g butter, pour 10g chia seeds in 90g water. For 1 egg take 1 tbsp chia seeds and 3 tbsp water. Soak the seeds in the water for 15 minutes. They will turn into a jelly-like substance you can use to add texture to pastry.
