Premium-quality dried figs
Our dried figs are delicious and naturally sweet. We always opt for figs from the latest harvest. This way, premium quality can be guaranteed: beautiful and large figs with a fantastic taste. No added sugar, sulphur or other additives.
On the rhythm of the seasons
In Turkey, ripe figs are always harvested in September. They are dried locally before being transported to Western Europe. From the end of October, you can find these freshly dried figs on your kitchen table or in your pantry. They are at their best during autumn and winter. Starting in spring, natural sugars begin to crystallize on the surface of the figs. In summer, it is often hard to find premium-quality figs at all.
Crystallization
Dried figs contain almost no water and have a high sugar content. This is why they remain fresh and juicy for quite a long time. Store in a cool and dry place. If kind of a white snow forms on the surface of the fig, its natural sugars are crystallizing. The fig remains edibile. Figs have an average glycemix index of around 60.
Use
Figs are simply as sweet snacks. Their rich aroma and balanced taste goes well with a wide array of dishes. Combine with meat and vegetables in a wok for a sweet touch. Add to bread or pastry.
